Tŷ Newydd – come join me at the end of July!

So I am very much looking forward to running a retreat at the end of July at Tŷ Newydd, a wonderful writing centre (center Am. spelling) up in North Wales. It is a beautiful place, which once belonged to David Lloyd George who was prime minister of Britain during World War One. The dates are Mon 31 July 2023 – Fri 4 August 2023.

Zoe is a white woman with long fair hair wearing a sleeveless pale purple dress. She is sat in the bay window of the writing center/centre with green grass and trees through the windows.

The focus is editing & submitting poems. It’s designed to give poets a boost & the best advice on sharpening up drafts & getting poems out there in the world. It could be extremely helpful if you have a writing deadline, or perhaps a collection of draft poems and I can work with new poets or poets who may have published collections already and are looking for a bit of a boost.

Honestly, if you are simply looking to escape from a busy life for a short while, this could be for you. The whole thing is fully catered with delicious vegan options and special thought put into dietary requirements. The place itself is gorgeous. Set in a peaceful location in the stunning surroundings of rural north-west Wales, you can walk (or drive) down to uplifting views of the sea and Cardigan Bay. The dinners are lovely, and there’s also Tŷ Newydd’s cosy library.

I’ll run group workshops on editing your poems, collating poetry into collections/pamphlets, & tips & tricks on how to best pitch your work to magazines & publishers for consideration.  You’ll have a one-to-one tutorial with me, and poet Taz Rahman will also join us as a guest, to discuss his journey to publish his debut poetry collection and his poetic practice.

Book your place here.
